When you pick up that phone, or meet that new connection at the mall, or connect with a new friend on Facebook – what do you think they are thinking about you? Do you worry about it? Are you concerned about: too weak, too strong, too short, too young, too old, too brown, too white, too new, too loud, too quiet, too shy, too enthusiastic, etc?
Here is the good news. Most likely they are so busy thinking about themselves that they have not thought anything about you. Remember when you were a teen or in middle school and you just KNEW that everyone was aware that you’d used the totally wrong shampoo last night, or that the entire school new your jeans were hand-me-down’s? Even then, mostly then (LOL) everyone was way too focused on their own insecurities to even notice.
It’s not much different now. In fact, most people are so wrapped up in their concerns of daily life that if someone just like you approached them with warmth, kindness and genuine caring they would open up like a flower on a warm spring day after a soft rain. You have a gift to give. You will make a difference in someone’s day in a positive way. Go Forth!
