It used to make me angry when Facebook changed their algorithm, making it much more difficult to find and keep your audience organically. I had worked so hard keeping my message in front of the right people. And then Facebook decided that we should all pay to play. We must remember that they are first and foremost a business – they are not an altruistic social gathering place. Though they try to have us feel that they are there for us, the reality is that they are there for themselves. Facebook interactions may well be where we do much of our socializing and connecting these days, but never forget that at this moment in time the business of Facebook exists to make money by gathering exquisite demographics and allowing their advertisers to benefit.
These days I find myself much less angry at Facebook and more excited, now that I can utilize their platform to reach the exact people I want to reach, for my own business and for the clients with whom I work. I can create micro-targeted ad campaigns and track every aspect of engagement and results. I can show a small business owner exactly where their money is going and how their investment brings new people in their door – brick and mortar or online. Facebook advertising can be a small business owner’s best friend – if set up correctly and monitored. Facebook local ads can help small business owners grow business in a multi-pronged manner that other media advertising can only wish for.
I’d love to show you how paid local advertising on Facebook can grow business for you. Contact me for a complimentary ad campaign.
