Today I was interviewed by the wonderful Ms. Tracy Allen on the What Do YOU Do? Show.
The Topic: Why am I not More Successful?
I won’t spoil it and spill the golden nuggets of success for entrepreneurs and other individuals. You can experience them live in the video. Just know that the questions Tracy asked brought up for me at such a heart level, my why. She asked me what it was like to be able to inspire and shift people into greater joy, more passion and purpose, and to break through and walk a path towards unlimited income. My answer might surprise you…(pay attention at minute 14).

I have always been a procrastinator. I find I need some internal and external force to get me off dead center to get things going.
I have a story that I live but also live outside of so I can get things done.
when I was 16 I had a closed head injury. When I was 18 I was paralyzed in an auto accident. when I live outside of those and no allow them to govern my life, I find more success and happiness.
However,l when things go wrong, I begin my “stinkin thinkin” as Zig Ziglar would say and my head injury and spinal cord injury become larger than life. They begin to control me not me controlling them and controlling my life.
I started as a Life coach, but did not have the income coming in so I switched to Life Insurance. Where my passion is in speaking and coaching.
Thanks for the work you do and the connection we have.

You are most welcome Mike. Thank you for transparently sharing. It sounds like you know what works for you and what doesn’t . Your traumatic experiences will always be your history, but they do not have to be part of your story in ways that hinder you, only in ways that empower you. When we go through the stories transformation experience I guide people to release the old story and actually write a new one. Your story already is rich with inspiration for others!! I would guess you make quite an impact when you speak to groups.

YOU asked for one comment……….
my take away from the video was that motivation ( or lack thereof) keeps you from being most successful.
Your personal Drive, Passion and Commitment ( regardless of circumstance) along with a tenacious spirit of endurance and NEVER QUIT mentality is the broth of the soup of success.
Limiting thoughts from between one’s own ears are the only thing holding someone back from achieving their dreams. ” Seeing it as done” is the secret ingredient in my own life to drive things forward. Thank you Deb for the great work you are doing to inspire! best wishes- Dr T

I agree Dr. Tammy!! Thank you for your thoughts!

Deborah, after thinking about this:
Reading novels, plays, biographies, histories, essays, artifacts of culture, science and art, I haven’t seen that the nature and experience of human being has changed substantially in the last year, ten years, hundred or thousand or ten thousand years. The ways we experience life, each other and our needs, desires, ambitions have not changed. Traditional expectations and expressions that arise from cultural context vary. In this respect, virtual technologies have also not changed us. We are like our cave-dwelling, sheep-herding, bison-hunting, tuber-digging predecessors with a new vocabulary that accommodates characteristics of civilization.
There are thus equivalents to everything you speak about across time and culture. “Branding” is an interesting notion when you apply it to people at different periods and cultures.
