People do business with people they know, trust and like.
How does this translate to your blog, the center piece of your online marketing efforts?
When you develop relationships with people offline, you do so with a give and take sharing of information. The connection builds through the sharing of value, ideas, experiences. Your blog allows you do the same thing online. Relationships are developed with your readers and if you offer them delightful tidbits that feed their needs and their soul, they will come back again and again to hear what you have to say.
Learning how to be a good blogger is crucial to a successful online presence. You can be excellent at PPC (pay per click) and other forms of advertising, but you lack an online home if you don’t have a blog. People want to know about you. They want to feel good about the person they are doing business with.
Often I’ve clicked on a PPC ad, and landed on someone’s opt-in page. What do I do then? I search around to try and find out who owns and page. I google them and see who they are and what is the essence of their message. If I like what I see, I go back to the initial landing page and opt-in. If I don’t find a blog where I can get a feel for the person, chances are I won’t opt-in to their list.
You may have heard me talk about my friend Ann Sieg. Of all the strong leaders in the online network marketing world, Ann stands out for many reasons. She is a mature woman who has raised her children with many of the same values that I bring to my family. She is sincere and steadfast in her convictions. And she is an intelligent and powerful business woman. I always enjoy our conversations, whether in person or on the phone.
I like this video that Ann just sent me about the power of blogging. I think you’ll like it too.
