It’s a real place at a real time; it’s a mindset and a plan.

For starters
: It’s a REAL PLACE! Offline with real people. The first meeting is on October 16th 2010 at 10 AM. The location is in San Diego. It’s a live Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge Introduction and Weight Loss Motivation meeting. If you are in San Diego and you are tired of struggling to lose weight, then we want to meet you and help change that struggle into success! Next is mindset
: Every neuron in your brain is connected with other neurons that have been trained to fire at the same time. They say that neurons that fire together, stay together. In people who are overweight because they eat more than just the right food in the right amounts, their brains have connected their hunger neurons with neurons related to all kinds of other emotions. The trick is to retrain. Mindset is not just motivation. It’s not just fortitude. It is actually re-inventing your habits so that on a neurological level, appetite and eating behavior are no longer tied up with anything that gets in the way of making healthy choices.

A plan: The plan is the how. It relates to the creation of new habits. It is far easier to end bad habits when they are being instantly replaced with new ones. Nature does not like a vacuum and thus just ending something that you have been doing for a long time, is very very difficult. But replacing it with another healthier and easy habit, is the way to go. We’ll talk about the plan and how it works for you, at the Live Meeting, or on the phone if you can’t make on the 16th..or if you live anywhere other then San Diego.

What’s a Girl Like Me Doing in a Place Like This?

I have not been “on a diet” since I was in my early 20’s. If I tell you body-by-vi-challenge-imagehow long ago that was, I will be severely dating myself. Regardless, as I grew in maturity, I grew to understand that nutrition and sustainable healthy eating habits are the key to the proper weight and a balanced lifestyle. A “diet” is so temporary in mindset. But a healthy nutrition mindset and plan can last a lifetime.

So, why did I then embark on the Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge, just four weeks ago? The answer is that I needed a change. I needed a focus. I needed a system that allowed me to lose some excess body fat and to bring fitness and exercise back into my life, full force. The motivational aspect of the Body By Vi Challenge, intrigued me. Winning a cruise wouldn’t be so bad either.

In the past four weeks I’ve lost five pounds and almost four inches. Given that I only needed to lose seven, I am almost there on that front. The next sixty days will be spent really ramping up the weight training, now that my running is smooth and steady for thirty minutes at a time. Time to get buff!

Taking Action

ideasHave you ever noticed that ideas can percolate within your brain for long periods of time, ripening slowly until one day they become crystal clear? They begin as a vague sense that a shift is coming. Hazy plans develop in a series of action steps which move slowly towards clarity. Sometimes this process takes just a few hours. Sometimes days. Often weeks or months. In this case, a good six month have passed since the idea became clear — and it’s been years since I’ve known that the shift was coming.

Here’s a story:
Eleven years ago this month I became pregnant for the first time at 40 years old. It was a sad day in February 2000 that we lost our tiny baby, still growing in my womb. After four additional unsuccessful pregnancies we made the decision to adopt. In July 2002 my husband and I were blessed with child I’d been dreaming about for years. We held her in our arms when she was just 15 minutes old. She smiled (no it was not gas) and we knew we were the family that was meant to be.

Being the earth mother attachment parenting person that I am, I was determined to nurse my new baby. Read more

What was particularly intriguing about the information shared, was that our super-busy multi-tasking electronic environment only gives the appearance of being more productive.
